Our poor pups wonder why they can understand us but we have so much trouble understanding them! LOL. Thanks, guys.

I was working in my office at home when I heard something bang into the arm of my chair and looked down to see that sight. All I could think about was the line from Oliver “Please sir, may I have some more?” Jake was a big galoot and a sweetheart. Thanks for memorializing him on Draw the Dog!!

CLASSIC! Thanks for sharing your daily creations :)

Great cartoon!
Thank you Craig for giving this boy a loving foster home!! Rescues would not be able to do their lifesaving work without wonderful foster homes like yours!

Another great (rescued) dog that will live in infamy . . .

Love It! One of my dogs actually kicks the bowls around and occasionally flips them over. We haven’t decided if its hunger or if she just wants to play.
Also loved the cartoon strip, its just a little more that I get to look forward to. Thanks

He looked like a sweetheart – what a great story! And the cartoon is great…

Our cocker spaniel would sit patiently by his metal food dish only so long. Once we had not responded in the appropriate time frame, one quick fling of the paw on the side of the dish set it clattering across the kitchen floor and even the neighbors knew what Amos wanted!

Loved this one! The dog is precious. The cartoon was wonderful. This one made me laugh out loud. What a great way to start the day.

I had a Collie/Shep mix that used to bring us her bowl when she wanted to eat or to get a handout. Thank you for the memory

One foster Beagle went to his new home but my Beagle has taken up his habit of rattling the empty water bowl, looking at me accusingly…how COULD you let it go dry? Wonderful photo and cartoon but I can’t find the new comic strip :( .

What a sweetheart! Craig….you sure were blessed!

Heather 2010/11/08 at 2:54 pm

Oh my gosh, my dog whacks his water bowl or his food bowl around and then glares at us, saying, “Um, hello… I”m just going to stand here until you fill it…” ;) I love dogs!

Perfect! Every dog has a has and his own personality. I think you captured this one! Thank you for this special memorial to one of our own special Pointers from Pointer Rescue.

Besides the dogs I had as a kid, every one of the 13 dogs we’ve had in 32 years of marriage has developed a “time clock in their tummy”. None have ever failed to let us know when feeding time was approaching. Yesterday morning I slept late. Myy bulldog came up to the side of the bed and GROWLED because I was an hour late giving him breakfast….

BTW, I love this website! So glad it was suggested to me!

Jake moved around a lot and touched many lives, including ours. When he finally found his mom, he got to go to work with her. She told us on the first day at work “half of the office stopped by to get introduced and everybody was sucking up to him and bringing him offerings and he was basking in all that attention like it is the most natural behavior and he won’t accept anything less.” And that is no less than the old man deserved.

I can’t see the comic strip either. But the drawing is wonderful as usual!

Janice 2010/11/08 at 9:50 pm

Oh, I found it–I thought it was right under the cartoon, but it was further down on the page. Great!

I love it! Our 4 month old Westie puppy lets me know it’s time to eat by climbing on the dog food bag in the kitchen…I can be anywhere in the house and I hear the tell-tale rustle and I know Caleigh’s saying “FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”

“I’m a big bad Westie from Tennessee and I’m STARVED!”

Terri 2010/11/10 at 4:51 pm

Love this! At feeding time, if I am not getting right to it, my Maltese will look at me sneeze. She becomes quite indignant at being made to wait. Of course she is the alpha dog in the house,,,LOL!!!!
